The Christina Lee Brown Envirome Institute's Environmental Medicine Grand Rounds guest speaker is Dr. Andrew Gibb. Dr. Gibb, Associate Professor in the School of Medicine at the University of Louisville, will present "Cardiac Energetic Inefficiency: From Physiological Workload to Heart Failure".
Dr. Gibb will focus on describing how metabolic remodeling during heart failure contributes to an energetic deficit, how the metabolism of glutamine may impact energy provision during increased workloads, and evaluate whether targeting glutamine synthesis is an effective strategy for heart failure.
