On behalf of the University of Louisville Office of Health Equity and Engagement and the Commission on Disability and Accessibility, we are excited to invite you to the inaugural LouABLE Fest 2026!

 LouABLE Fest will bridge the gap between academic health science, policy, the lived experience of disability and accessibility, community realities and education practice. In 2025 Dean Bumpous, EVPHA instituted the U of L Health Science Center - Commission on Disability and Accessibility (CoDA) to understand the realities experienced by disabled students, faculty, and staff. CoDA’s goal was to catalog and build upon efforts that already exist for inclusion and belonging, as well as identify gaps in institutional knowledge and practice. Led by Commission members and partners, we are excited to be ABLE to offer this experience to the HSC community.

 At this lively and deeply interactive inaugural event the Health Science Center, along with community partners, will gather to challenge ourselves to think in new ways about disability and accessibility and invite deeper understandings across schools, professions, individuals and communities.  The event will also serve as a data gathering event for a creative mapping and research initiative. Finally, there will be mini-lectures and workshops that are related to accessibility, technological tools, and the frontiers of accessibility to provoke us to consider what else we might be ABLE to do.
