DESCRIPTION:A Wolf Among Swans follows the extraordinary journey of Thiago 
 Soares, a young man from the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro who leaves hip hop 
 behind to pursue classical ballet. Under the demanding guidance of Cuban m
 entor Dino Carrera, Thiago overcomes social, economic, and personal obstac
 les on his path to becoming a principal dancer with the Royal Ballet in Lo
 ndon. Based on a true story, the film explores resilience, artistic discip
 line, mentorship, and the transformative power of the arts\n\n\nThe Depart
 ment of Classical and Modern Languages and the Latin American and Latino S
 tudies Program, College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Louisvil
 le, proudly announce the 33rd edition of the “Reel” Latin America(n) F
 ilm Festival, a celebration that has brought the voices of Spanish and Lat
 in American cinema to our community for more than three decades.\n\n\n\nTh
 e festival’s title, “Reel,” plays on both the material history of fi
 lm reels and the presentation of real stories—authentic narratives that 
 reveal the resilience, struggles, and aspirations of communities across La
 tin America and Spain. The 33rd edition brings five new features spanning 
 Brazil, Spain, the United States, the Dominican Republic, and Venezuela, c
 ontinuing the festival’s commitment to exploring shared cultural questio
 ns across the Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking world.
