Keynote lecture, Liberal Studies Symposium "History, Memory, and America at 250"

In this talk, historian Dr. Tracy Campbell, the E. Vernon Smith and Eloise C. Smith Professor of American History at the University of Kentucky, will draw from his forthcoming book (Polity Press, 2027) to reflect on the history of the United States in the late 1940s.

Tracy Campbell specializes in twentieth century United States political and social history. He has written five books, including The Year of Peril: America in 1942 (Yale, 2020) which won the 2021 Barbara and David Zalaznick Book Prize from the New-York Historical Society for the best book in American history and biography in 2020.
